Position Summary
The “Engineer, Mechatronics V&V” plays a key operational role in the company’s Rovereto Technology Center laboratory, which represents a strategic asset for technology development, verification, and validation. The position combines hands-on laboratory testing with mechanical design responsibilities, including the development of prototype components and custom test bench fixtures using CAD tools.
The engineer manages verification and validation activities end-to-end, from Test Request review and test definition to setup implementation, execution, data analysis, and reporting. In addition to technical testing responsibilities, the role actively contributes to the effective day-to-day management of the laboratory, supporting equipment logistics, workspace organization, 5S implementation, and HSE compliance.
Operating within a highly skilled, multidisciplinary engineering team, the position involves frequent interaction with multiple company functions and organizational levels, including leadership, and directly supports informed decision-making throughout the product development lifecycle.
Main Responsibilites
• Support and independently manage verification and validation activities for mechanical, hydraulic and mechatronic components within the Technology Center laboratory
• Review and assess Test Requests, ensuring clarity, technical feasibility, and alignment with project requirements
• Define test concepts, methodologies, and procedures, including objectives, test conditions, and acceptance criteria
• Design mechanical components, prototypes, and custom test bench fixtures using CAD tools, ensuring manufacturability and alignment with workshop capabilities
• Implement and assemble laboratory test setups, coordinating with internal workshops and relevant stakeholders as needed
• Execute laboratory tests in compliance with defined procedures, safety rules, and quality standards
• Collect, process, and analyze test data using appropriate data analysis tools
• Prepare clear, structured, and technically sound test reports, submitting results for review and approval to the Lab Manager
• Play a key operational role in the correct day-to-day management of the laboratory, including equipment logistics, workspace organization, and 5S implementation
• Actively contribute to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance, ensuring safe working conditions and adherence to applicable procedures and regulations
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality) to support product development and validation activities

Job position requirements
Education: University master degree
Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
Professional background
• 3–5 years of professional experience in mechanical or mechatronic engineering roles within industrial or R&D environments
• Proven experience in laboratory testing, verification and validation activities, or prototype development
• Hands-on involvement in the design and implementation of test setups, test benches, or experimental equipment
• Practical experience in mechanical component design, with direct interaction with workshops, suppliers, or internal manufacturing resources
• Background in industrial sectors such as metal-mechanics, mechatronics, automation, machinery, or similar engineering-driven environments
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and interacting with multiple stakeholders to support product development and validation processes
Hard skills
Essential: • Good understanding of mechanical design principles, with the ability to design simple mechanical components, prototypes, and basic test fixtures
• Practical familiarity with CAD tools for mechanical design
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and workshop constraints, with the ability to design components that can be realistically realized
• Initial hands-on experience with laboratory testing activities, including test setup, execution, and basic troubleshooting
• Ability to process and analyze test data using common data analysis tools (e.g. Excel; MATLAB or Python considered an advantage)
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and test documentation
• Good command of written and spoken English for everyday technical communication and reporting
Considered as a plus: • Experience in designing, assembling, or modifying test benches and custom laboratory setups
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic components and systems (e.g. pumps, motors, valves, actuators)
• Familiarity with measurement systems, sensors, and basic test instrumentation
• Initial exposure to structured verification and validation processes or test documentation standards
• Experience working in regulated or safety‑aware laboratory or industrial environments

Compensation: Starting gross annual salary (RAL): starting at €45.000, Level B2 - CCNL Metalmeccanica Industria - The total compensation package will be determined based on the candidate’s skills and professional experience.
